HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy, Happy New Year!!!!!

I want to wish y'all a happy New Year's Eve! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday last week and are able to ring in the New Year tonight with those you love.

2009 was a year filled with ups and downs for the McGrew family. As we reflect on the past 12 months we do realize that despite the "downs" we experienced we are truly blessed. Our family is healthy, our children are happy and we have the best extended family and the best friends any individual could possibly wish for. We are looking forward to 2010 and we welcome whatever God has in store for us!

Enjoy your celebrations today, be happy and be safe!

Happy Holidays!

Hello and Happy, Happy Holidays!
I have been travleing this past week, thus the lack of posts. I am hoping to some day treat myself to an Apple Laptop computer so that I can keep up with my blogging but for now...I will just have to make do with what I have.
My family and I are having a fabulous time up in Connecituct at my parent's home. We drove here after church on Sunday...once the big snow storm subsidded and I have to tell you we got so excited as we were driving and came up to the snow. It is so pretty and festive. I grew up in my parent's house. Yes, they still live in the same house they lived in when I was born almost 42 years ago. I have always woken up on Christmas morning in this very house and I have to say that it just would not be Chrismtas if I was not in this special home filled with so many memories. My children have never been anywhere else on Chirsmtas Eve, either. Christmas to my children is not just about gifts...when they think of Christmas they think of their Grammy & Grampy...and all their cousins and aunts and uncles!
We built a snowman and have been sledding every day since our arrival. the other night we were out sledding until 8:30 p.m. Stan built a bon fire and we made S'mores and cooked hot chocolate outside, too! Yesterday we went to my brother Rusty's house. Rusty built a beautiful ice rink in his pack yard. All the cousins went skating and it even started snowing again! It was perfect!
It's hard living in the south at this time of year for me. I am truly a winter gal and living far from my parents and siblings is hard but Christmas time is one of the most wonderful times of the year for me...I get to enjoy the winter season with my family and my parents and siblings. Nothing could be finer!
I have been taking lots of photos and will share them once I arrive back home (my parent's computer is a bit ...old and it would take too long to upload and all that jazz) so be sure to check back soon!

Happy, Happy Holidays to all of you dear friends!

Amy

I wrapped each one up individually and then adhered a number to each stick and placed them in a jar. I told him that he can come back for refills when the jar is empty! He got a kick out of this gift!

I wanted to remind y'all that the CTMH Clearance sales ends tomorrow. Be sure to stop by my website (amy.myctmh.com) to see what products are still available and place your order a.s.a.p! I have heard alot of positve feedback on the goodie boxes-lots of great product at an AMAZING price!

Mini Album Fun

I decided to do something new this holiday season. Stan and I agreed not to exhange gifts this Christmas. Our trip to New Zealand in January is our gift to each other. Stan has been working so hard, adjusting to a new job and new coworkers. This can be challenging at times so I wanted to do something fun for him. I decided to give him the "25 gifts of Christmas." On December 1st I gave him 1 ornament, on December 2nd I gave him 2 socks, December 3rd his gift was 3 chocolates. December 4th it was 4 bananas. You get the idea-I give him whatever day it is (5, 6, 7, etc) a gift of that many. Yesterday was December 14th. I made him this mini album that held 14 photos. This album is not my original idea. Another CTMH consultant shared it and I "scrap-lifted" it (this is another perk of being a CTMH consultant, other consultants across the country and Canada share so many wonderful ideas with all the consultants!).

Stan loves his album and I loved creating it for him!

He is also enjoying finding treats on the bathroom counter each morning. He is now going to bed each night wondering what the next day will bring! I,too, am enjoying this little "game" I am playing with him. It can be tricky coming up with little inexpensive gifts to surprise him with each day, esepcially now that the numbers are getting bigger. Stay tuned tomorrow to see what I gave Stan today!

Charleston, SC Reindeer Run/Walk

This past Saturday Stan, the kids and I participated in the Charleston Reindeer run. What fun we had...despite the pouring down rain. This was the first race/walk we particiated in as a family. Stan and I were actually surprised the kids wanted to do it in the rain! They were quite the troopers. The course was really fun. We walked down the famous "Rainbow Row" and all around Battery Park. It was a great family bonding activity. The kids made these Reindeer shirts a few days before the race. They came out great! We are all looking forward to doing it as a family again next year!

My Happy Place Complete!

Here are some photos of my finished "happy place." I hope you enjoy! This is a photo of my mom and I. As I mentioned, my parents were a huge help in this whole project. I could not have done it without them! My mom was able to actually take a class in the room while she was visiting. I wish she lived closer so she could take lots of my classes! My parents will be back in January to baby sit our three children while Stan and I travel to New Zealand with all the other incentive trip earners. While they are here my mom is going to make table skirts for my computer table to hide all the stuff under the table! She might make curtains for the windows, too! Oh Boy!

Thank you Chris!

It's me again-this is my 2nd post of the day. I neglected to thank my dear friend, Chris in the first post. Chris came with me to the Crop last weekend. My assisant, Kim had to cancel at the last minute due to illness. I called Chris and she was delighted to come help me. THANK YOU CHRIS!!!! I truly appreicated it. Your company meant the world to me!

Chris was also the gal who inspired me to re-do my scrapbook room. We were talking one day after a class she took and one thing led to another and the next thing I knew, we were busy rearranging and then I got it stuck in my head that I wanted my room painted a different color.

My scrapbook room is actually the living and dining room in our house. We do not have living or dining room furniture and once my business started to gow (about 1 year after moving down here) I convinced Stan to let me make the living and dining room my scrapbook room-don't I have the best hubby in the whole wide world?!!!!! THANK YOU STAN!

My parents came down for a visit October 22nd and just left last Saturday, Nov.7th. We spent the first week of their visit moving back into my new "happy place." A friend of ours painted the room and Stan and my dad helped. My room is HEAVEN!!!!! I love it! If you are local you need to stop over and see it-better yet, sign up for a class so you can create in it. It is WONDERFUL!

I am sharing some photos of the whole process of how my new happy place came to be. Be sure to check back tomorrow to see more photos!

Thank You Columbia!

What fun I had in Columbia this past weekend. I enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends! Thank you to all those who visited my booth and shared their stories with me. I look forward to seeing you at future crops! Here is a picture of one of the "Create & Take projects I offered at my booth this past weekend. It is a mini 4 x 6 album using Close To My Heart's exclusive Flip Flap Memory Protectors (#Z4114). You get 15 in a package for just $3.95! We also used the Jingle Creative Basics (#X5808), Holday Trinkets Stamp Set (#D1366) and the Chocolate Large Alphabet set (#E1010). We used the Tulip Ink Pad (#Z2166) and the B-lack Ink Pad (#Z2105), as well as some Prisma Glitter(#Z134) and the large White Daisy Bigger brads from the Basic Assortment (#Z1218).

The other Create & Take Project was this fun paper wallet.

It was created using the Grace Level 2 paper pack (#X7117B) and the Many Thanks Stamp Set (#D1371) and honey Ink and Barn Red Ink (#Z2161) and (#Z2104). I taught the "stamp rolling" technique using the leaf image. I love how this came out. It really brings the leaf to life!
As you can see from the 2nd photo, you can add photos to your paper wallet and/or journaling. In the birthday theme wallet I added all photos. I hope this photo will give you an idea of how the paper wallet looks once it is filled with photos and memories!

More Halloween Fun!

Happy Halloween Eve Everyone!
My family and I continue to enjoy having my parents in town. We are getting into the Fall Spirit by doing all sorts of fun things. I am sharing some more photos of our trip to the West Farm in Moncks Corner, SC, as well as some photos of Halloween treats I cooked up for the kids and the spooky bats Tucker, Molly and Payton made from mini pumpkins. I hope y'all have a wonderful Halloween! I'd like to close by sharing this cute little joke I received in my inbox this morning.

Make it a super day!

Three vampires walk into a bar.
"What can I get ya?" asks the bartender.
"Blood," orders the first vampire.
"Make it two," says the second.
The bartender looks at the third. "What about you, buddy?"
"Plasma," says the vampire.
"Okay," replies the barman. "Let me make sure I've got this straight. Two bloods and a blood light."
Happy Halloween! Enjoy the make-believe of this fun holiday.

My Parents!

Hello!
I have not posted in a few days. My parents are in town visiting for 2 weeks. They live in Connecticut (16 hours away from me down here in Charleston, SC-BooHoo). In fact they still live in the house I grew up in!
We have not seen each other since last Christmas so we were very excited for their arrival!
Here is a photo of my mom and I. She made me this adorable witch hat. I have some close up photos of the hat-they don't do justice to all the hand stitching my mother did on this fabulous decoration. I absolutely love it. Thanks Mom!

I have also posted a few photos of the Halloween pillowcases my mom made for Tucker, Molly and Payton. Are they not the cutest? Stan wanted to know why he didn't get one for our bed!!!

Anyway, the McGrew's are thrilled to have my parents in town.

We went to the farm on Sunday and have plans to carve pumpkins and go trick-or-treating on Saturday night. We have also been very busy painting my stamp room (it came out gorgeous!) and now we are moving everything back in. My Dad is amazed at all the "stuff" I have! I am actually planning to host a scrapbook/stamp sale in a few weeks. As I move back into my room I am putting product to the side that I no longer need and will be selling them so be sure to stay tuned for this magnificent sale extravaganza!
I will also post more photos and share more stories about our wonderful visit with my parents. I hate living so far from them but I LOVE having them visit. Life is always so much fun (even the things I hate to do) when they are around! And I love seeing my children get so excited and be so happy to just hang out with my mom and dad (I hope my grandchildren will feel the same way towards Stan and I!). They truly are the two most perfect people I know. They love life, they gave me a fabulous childhood and were excellent role models for me on how to be the best parent I can be!
