It's the Simple Things...

Today has been a fabulous day! It all began when I came into the house early this morning after working out in the garage to find the kitchen table set for breakfast. Stan had to leave for work early this morning. He came into the garage to say good-bye and then left. Seeing the breakfast table all set upon walking back into the house was a wonderful surprsie for me(it does not take much to make me happy!).
Then, when I went upstairs to my bedroom to get out of my smelly clothes so I could walk the kids to the bus stop I was pleasantly suprised again to see the the bed made. WOW! This is an aweosme day (I told you it doesn't take much to make me happy!)!
I have been "buring the candle at both ends" these last several months. Myhubby has noticed that I am a bit tired and on "overload" and he went out of his way to help me this morning. It's these simple things that mean so much to me! Thank you, Stan, you are the best! You made my day!

THE BRIDGE!

Hello!

I thought I would share with you some photos of the bike ride we took yesterday over the famous Charleston bridge. We have done this about 4 times since moving here 3 years ago. It is such a fun ride! We take our time, stopping along the way to drink water, take some photos and chat with the many other individuals who are biking, walking or running over the bridge. No matter what time of day you go over the bridge there are ALWAYS people walking, running or biking the bridge. This is a popular tourist activity, too. If you ever come to visit, I will be sure to take you over the bridge!

Dancing Girls!

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

I hope you have all enjoyed a nice long weekend. The McGrew family had a very busy but fun 3-day weekend. I have so much to share and tell you about! Tonight I will start bytelling you about Friday evening. Molly and Payton had their dance recital. We changed dance studios this year. The girls took their lessons at Magnolia Dance Academy which is located right down the street from our home (the commute was FABULOUS!). Anyway, all the dancers in the entire academy did a fabulous job. Stan and I (and even Tucker) were very impressed with the show. I congratulate all the dancers and all the faculty at Magnolia Dance Academy. They certainly worked hard and it showed on Friday night!

I hope you enjoy some of these photos of Molly and Payton. Molly was in jazz and Payton in ballet. It was such fun getting ready for the show. The girls were so excited to wear "real" make-up!

Tucker gave the girls these flower bouquets after the show.

Mood Doggie Scrapbook Kit

I enjoyed another day of creating yesterday. Here are the layouts my June Scrapbook Club members will be creating. The new Moon Doggie kit is perfect for any and all summer time memories, tropical vacation photos, springtime flower photos, etc. I love how versatile this My Reflection Kit is!

I chose to highlight photos taken last summer when our good friends, The Dozer Family, came to visit. We met the Dozer's soon after we moved to Lancaster, Ohio back in 2000. All of our children are the same ages and Tucker and Grant were in the same class together every year up until we had to move away. I am so thrilled that we have all remained close even after moving 10 hours away. Each time we get together the kids pick up right where they left off. It is amazing how sometimes you grow closer even when you are separated by too many miles.

Anyway, creating these layouts was a whole lot of fun. Stan and the kids enjoyed looking at them once they were done. Tucker, Molly and Payton wanted to know when, this summer, the Dozer Family was coming back for another week of fun in the sun! The pressure is on Tracy & Dave-you better be heading south this summer!!!!!

Here are the details on the June scrapbook club kit. Anyone can join scrapbook club-even long distance gals! Contact me today for more info. Or you can order these products directly from my website (http://www.amy.myctmh.com/).
I am having trouble with this last photo. Again, it keeps rotating in the downloading process. I can not figure out why this happens every once in a while and I cannot figure out how to fix the problem. I do love the layout so I am posting it anyway. I hope you don't mind tilting your head to view the layout the correct way!

Fun Card Organization Boxes

My dear, dear Friend Tonya celebrated her 39th birthday this past Sunday. I wanted to make her something that she could put to use. Jeanette Lynton (founder & CEO of CTMH and a fabulous lady!) shared this card organization idea on her blog back in December. I loved it and thought this would be the perfect gift for my perfect friend.

I used Close To my Heart My Creations Memory Keepers (item #Z1116), along with a variety of Close To My Heart "My Duos" paper packets ($12.95 per packet) and Dimensional Elements Monograms chipboard letters ($3.25 per letter sheet-I LOVE THESE!).
The boxes are perfect for storing cards you create to send to friends and family and/or to keep cards that have been given to you. These boxes are also great for storing mementos from a trip, an event, etc.

Have I mentioned what a GREAT friend Tonya is? She is truly a blessing in my life and although we do not get to see each other often, we still remain close via phone calls, emails, fun coorespondence via snail mail and special times when we get to visit each other.

Happy, Happy Birthday Dear Tonya! I wish I could have celebrated with you in person! The world became a brighter place the day your were born!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful day with my family. The kids prepared breakfast for me and then we went to church. After church we headed down to my favorite beach where we enjoyed some fun in the sun. We were planning to bike the beach once the tide went back out but a storm came in so we will have to do that another day. We ended the day by going to dinner at one of our favorite family restaurants. It was a fabulous day!
I always enjoy quality time spent with my children and hubby and feel very blessed to be a mother and wife. Today Father Rick preached a wonderful sermon about his mother and where a mother's love comes from. It was so good- I was actually moved to tears. He shared that his mother loved him no matter how many times he made a mistake, how many times he got made fun of or did something he knew was wrong. He never had to EARN his mother's love. He said that his mother loved him with God's love and that he loves his mother with God's love. This is so very true! I love my children a little more each day. And as they get older I am finding it to be a bit more challenging to parent. Sometimes I feel that all I do is repeat myself. I don't want to discipline all day every day but I do want to teach my kids right from wrong and instill good morals and values in them. One thing I know for sure is that I will always love my children and I tell them several times a day that I love them with all my heart. That love will never go away.

My mother was a perfect mother (in my eyes). I can only remember her being happy and smiling, always ready to play, always there to help with homework or dirve me to swim practice. And I was the youngest of 5! My father was fabulous but he also worked 3 jobs so my mom could stay home with my siblings and I. There are times when I get overwhlemed with 3 children and my mom had FIVE! And like I already mentioned, she always seemed to have a smile on her face!

My mother, Bernice, was the perfect role model for me on what a mom should be. I often catch myself thinking, "Now, how would mom handle this situation?" And I call my mom constantly for parental advice which she gladly shares with me!

If I can be half the mother to my children that my mother was to me (and still is) I will consider myself to be an excellent mother!

Thanks mom for being you! I love you with all my heart!

I would like to share a poem with you that was shared online (sorry, I do not know who sent it to me). It describes my mother perfectly!

"Your Mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore. She's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep . . . the colors of the rainbow . . . she is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystallized in every tear drop. A mother shows every emotion: happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow . . . and all the while, hopes and prays you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you. Not time, not space . . . not even death!" ~Unknown

Paper Crafts

This week we celebrated "Teacher Appreciation Week" at my children's school. Each day the kids brought in a small gift to their teachers. On Thursday they were asked to bring in their teacher's favorite drink. I created these little bottle toppers to put on water bottles. They are oh so easy to make and ALOT of fun! The little front pocket allows you to add a drink mix or small treat. My children told me their teachers loved it!

I also created this small clipboard. These are great to have by the phone so you have easy access to jotting down messages.

I used the new "Bella" paper pack to created both of these projects. The paper pack lends itself to a variety of themes!

Smiles,

Amy

Oh how I love Fridays! And today will be extra special, as I am invited into school to have lunch with my daughter, Payton Marie (who is in kindergarten) in honor of Mother's Day!

I came across this quote the other day (sorry, I cannot recall where I read it). It spoke volumes to me and wanted to share it with you!

"How SIMPLE it is to see
that all the worry in the world
cannot control the FUTURE
How simple it is to see
that we can only be HAPPY NOW.
And that there will never be a time
when it is not now."
