Happy Valentine's Day!

Look what I made... CANDY SUNDAES!

This is the treat I made for my kids and hubby in honor of Valentine's Day. They were super easy to make and a whole lot of fun! I just filled a parfait glass with m&m's and then topped that with some popped pop corn. I wrapped a Styrofoam ball with saran wrap and then coated that with melted white almond bark and then "glued" more popcorn to the ball. I added a Hersey's kiss to the top, stick in a pixie stick and the sundae was complete!

Here is another layout created by my son, Tucker. He used the "Aspen" kit to scrapbook his memories. This kit is no longer available in the Idea book but it is online at Studio J. I LOVE that my children are preserving their own memories. They love using Studio J to do this. And they especially love that once we purchase their layout we get the JPEG file in about 15 minutes and then they can email their creations to their cousins, aunts & uncles, Grammy & Grampy and friends. I think they like this best of all. When you have a Studio J Membership you get both a low and high resolution JPEG FREE! Use the low jpeg to email to friends and family. Today's layout features the NEW MEMBERS ONLY KIT which is called "LOVE BIRD." I love the color combination of this kit-perfect for spring, little girls and big girls, Mother's Day, friendship, wedding, etc!

I used it to scrapbook photos of my daughter, Molly's, 6th birthday which had a tea party theme to it.

Here is a layout that my son created using the "Caboodle" kit. This is a retired kit but still available on Studio J. As you can see, this layout has no journaling. Tucker plans to add his journaling with his own handwriting once he receives the layout in the mail. A fine tip "Sharpie" pen works GREAT when wanting to add your own handwriting to your layouts. Tucker also plans to add some of the actual stickease (that I have in my stash) to the layout once it arrives. This is another feature that makes Studio J so AWESOME...the freedom to still add your own handwriting and/or stickease or any other embellishment to a layout created online! LOVE IT!!!!

Today is my "Knight an Shinning Armor's" 45 birthday! We just returned from dinner and had a little celebration with cookie cake and gifts for him. Stan is taking tomorrow off from work so I get to continue to spoil him all weekend long. Happy Birthday Dear Husband. The world is truly a better place because YOU are in it! I Love You! We Love You!

I spent time on Studio J last night. I discovered the NEW MEMBERS ONLY Studio J kit. It is so pretty and speaks SPRING but...it can also be used for a masculine layout or other seasonal page...with the click of your fingers! VERY COOL!

We will use the My Creations Memory Game to create this wonderful project! And it is perfect for the Lenten Season! The Memory Game Box comes with 24 chipboard tiles. We will decorate the outside of the box and we will cover each tile with beautiful CTMH paper (all from the new Spring/summer Idea Book!). I have printed 24 Scripture on cardstock for class members to put on one side of the tiles. The opposite sides of the tiles will be left blank for personal Scripture choices or prayers. All supplies will be provided-you just need to bring your own adhesives.

If you are long distance or can not attend the class, I can put a “Kit To Go” together for you with full instructions. There will be an additional cost for shipping. Please LMK if you are interested!

Day #5 of 29 Days of Studio J

Here is a layout I created using the "Elemental" Paper Pack. I LOVE how versatile this paper pack is. I have used it for several different themes including Christmas, Little Girl getting a Big Girl Bed, a woman's retreat and a pre-school graduation thus far!

I kept this layout very simple. The photos really are the focal point (as they should be!). I used a few embellishments, ribbon and several buttons and it was complete!

Day #5 of the 29 Days of Studio J and AWESOME JOB!

On this layout I used stickease in place of the journaling box. I also enlarged the elf stickease. Another characteristic that makes Studio J #1 in my book-you have the freedom to make your stickease any size you want. AND...there are also stickease available in Studio J that do not come on the stickease sheet when you purchase the actual stickease!

Today my son's Robotics Team had their competition. They did AWESOME and are going to the State Competition at the end of the month! WAY TO GO ROLLINGS ROBO KNIGHTS!!!!

29 Days of Studio J- DAY #1

This is my 2nd post of the day. Be sure to check out the information I posted earlier today-LOTS of EXCITING NEWS!

Here is Day #1 of my "29 Days of Studio J." This layout came together quite quickly-all while watching a family movie on Sunday evening! There were no products to clean up and I was thrilled with how the layout turned out!

I used the "Believe" kit to create this layout. And I pretty much stuck to the basic concept suggested. However, I did delete a strip of ribbon. This layout took me all of 15 minutes to complete. How cool is that?!

Fun With Kids!

Yesterday was such a fun day! 15 GREAT gals ages 6-12 came over to create fun Valentines and Button Jewelry. These girls are CREATIVE!!!!!! And oh so kind and fun. I truly enjoyed offering this fun workshop to them!

Our first class will be held on THURSDAY, MARCH 1st 6:00-7:30 p.m. My instruction is FREE. You only pay for the product that will be used at each monthly class. Don't you LOVE the colors in this card? I stamp-lifted it from the ever so talented Tresa Black. The colors used are Cocoa, Sorbet and Pear and some white daisy embossing. So YUMMY...I am tempted to eat this color combination!

Family Vacation Puzzle

I am having so much fun using the Close To My Heart Rock the Block Exclusive Kit. Below are photos of the Family Vacation Puzzle I created. I was inspired by a project fellow consultant and friend, Lisa Stenz created with her kit. My children have had so much fun playing with this "vacation album!" And it was so easy to put together! I just printed 4 6 x 6 photos and cut each photo into 2 inch squares and then adhered them onto the blocks. I used the exclusive stamp set and my cricut art philosophy cartridge to cut the "x's" and "o's" to make the tic-tac-toe came. Super Fun! Super Gift! Super Memories!

FREE STUDIO J CLASS and Video!

I am also offering a FREE STUDIO J CLASS on MONDAY, JANUARY 30 6:30-8:00 p.m. I invite you to bring your laptop (if you have one-if not-no worries-you can play a bit on mine) and learn the ins and outs of Studio J.
I encourage you to visit my website and play with this incredibly easy program prior to the class (it is FREE to play!). At the class I will take you step by step through the process of creating a fabulous layout in less than 30 minutes. And then I will introduce you to some fun tips on creating a more detailed layout. I do ask that you download at least 10 photos (of one event) to your computer prior to coming to class.

My Rock The Block

Happy Friday!

I finally treated myself to a little time to play with my January exclusive Rock the Block kit that is available only until January 31st. I cannot say enough about how fun this special kit is! I am thrilled with the stamp set that comes wiht this kit (and this stamp set will not be available to purchase after January 31st. It will be retired. This is a "Gotta Have" stamp set! I see me using this time and time again.

As you can see from the photos, I chose to use the blocks to create a perpetual calendar. I used the tray to create a shadow box highlighting one of my favorite photos of Stan and I. I created these projects using a retired paper pack called "Perfect Day," some fun embellishments and the Cricut Art Philosophy to cut all the numbers and letters (LOVE that this cartridge did all my cutting for me!). I adhered a photo of each family member (and one of the family together) on the 9th block. We will display the photo of each person, along with the date on his/her birthday month. Isn't that fun?!

This can be given as a gift to a friend or loved one but...I am so happy with how it turned out, it matches our kitchen and my daughter, Payton, LOVES to change the date each morning sooooo....I think we are going to keep the calendar and I am going to display the shadow box in the Master bedroom.

I am going to reserve a day/time in February where you can come create a perpetual calendar and shadow box of your own. The class will be free-you are just responsible for bringing your own supplies to embellish your blocks, along with your stamp set, adhesives, paper trimmer and a Cricut mat. I will be here to guide you and offer assistance when needed. Contact me for the details!

The children will create 10 lollipop covers using a variety of cardstock, paper flowers, sparkles, pearls and gems, a valentine button ring and they will also embellish a fun box with an assortment of pattern papers, a button clasp and fun bow on top. This box will be perfect to hold the lollipops, Valentines the children receive Or it is perfect for storing hair accessories, jewelry or other collections.

ROXIE: January Scrapbook Club Layouts

Here are the layouts my January Scrapbook Club will be creating. Would you like to join in on the fun? My monthly classes are FREE of charge. You just purchase the products needed to successfully complete the projects (the Basic Kit is required but there are also optional products that I use on my layouts that you do not have to purchase). My instruction and creative space does not cost anything. You have use to my blocks, inks and tools. I do ask you to bring your own 12 inch Cricut Mat (you can use it with my Cricut machine). I invite you to participate in the January class (you can participate via mail if you live out of town or can not attend the actual class). Happy New Year's Eve!

WOW! the last day of the year...can you believe it? I am always sad to see Christmas end and this year is no different BUT I am excited about the New Year and my plans to simplify and really enjoy paper crafting, scrapbooking and telling my stories! New products, new classes...alot of FUN awaits!

Greetings!

My family and I are still having a BLAST up in New England. Unfortunately, my time here in coming to an end. However, I am looking forward to the New Year, teaching new techniques and getting back to creating again.
I have been working on Studio J while here visiting my parents. I LOVE that program. And I LOVE that my holiday photos are almost all scrapped...thanks to Studio J!

Connecticut Greetings!

We made it to Connecticut safely and are having a BLAST! DId you know that my children and I have never woken up anywhere but HERE every single Christmas of our lives?! There is NO PLACE we would rather be than right here at 41 Irene Drive, Vernon, CT!

My parents ARE Christmas! I was truly blessed to be given such fabulous parents. Today Mom and Dad took us to Bushnell Park in Hartford for some outdoor ice skating. Stan was the official photographer so there are not many photos of him and Tucker injured his knee so he was on the sidelines, as well. What a FUN day we all had. it is SO good to be HOME again!

Here are a few photos of some of the home-made holiday gifts my family and I will be giving this year. My daughters LOVE the "button" jewelry! We have been having fun going through my button box picking out different buttons to match their outfits each day. With some ring backs, a hot glue gun and some fun buttons you can create rings galore!

I found the "Santa" basket at Wal-Mart. I created a Movie Theme gift Basket for my siblings' families by filling it with a DVD, giant chocolate bars, microwave popcorn, popcorn cups and seasoned pretzels. I created wrappers for the candy bars and pop corn using some CTMH cardstock to make them look like Santa's belly and belt! It was so fun creating these gifts! I used the CTMH "My Creations Banner" (#Z1378; $5.95) for my base (this is one of my most favorite products in the current Idea book!) and the Art Philosophy Cricut Bundle (#Z1686; $99.00). This IS my most favorite product in the current Idea Book!, the Dimensional Elelements Monograms Chipboard letters, some cardstock scraps, doilies, ribbons and NEWSPAPERS! I created the rosettes with some newspapers I had in our recycle bin!

Can you believe that today marks the last day of November? It seems like the older I get, the faster time passes by. I have to be honest, I think I am just as excited for December 1st to arrive as my children are! I LOVE to surprise the kids with a little something on Dec. 1st, I LOVE the arrival of "Christopher", our Christmas Elf and I LOVE our nightly family story time. Last year we started a tradition of reading a chapter a night from an Advent Story. Last year we read Bartholomew's Passage." This year we are reading "Tabitha's Travels." Happy Thanksgiving to You!

I hope you are able to enjoy your day with family and friends.

My family started the day with a Cinnamon Roll and Hot Chocolate Breakfast. We are watching the Parade on T.V and enjoying the relaxation of the day. I am cooking a dinner complete with turkey, stuffing (my favorite), sweet potato/cranberry casserole, cranberry sauce, rolls, pumpkin pie, etc. The kitchen is starting to smell REALLY Yummy!

I had fun last night creating a fun Thanksgiving Breakfast table for my children.

The "drumsticks" were made from lunch bags I cut in half. They are filled with candy and then wrapped with white paper I "fringed."

The pilgrim hats were made from black cardstock.

I have so much to be thankful for this year. You, my blog readers, being one of my many blessings.

Hello!

I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend! Here in Charleston the weather has been cold and crisp a

nd very "Fall-ish." I LOVE it! My parents have been visiting for the past 2 weeks. Yesterday my mom and I did some holiday shopping. I am rally getting in the holiday mood! On November 1st my jack-o-lanterns came down and the turkeys came out. I love Thanksgiving and decorating my home for this particular holiday. I got creative last night and created this "Gobble" banner to hang in our kitchen area. I have been making banners for over a year now (They are so fun to make and add they add

some fun my home decor too!).

This particular banner came together quite easy because I was able to use the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I also used the "Dreamin'" paper pack and the chocolate/white striped ribbon and the my creations banner (it served as the base for each pennant).

I LOVE Studio J!!!! This morning I treated myself to some Studio J time. What fun I had! Here are two layouts I created using the "Dreamin' " Kit. The "tub" layout was created on Studio J while the "Sunny Days" layout was created the traditional way. I love how I can create a camping theme layout AND a layout of my daughters in the tub using the SAME paper pack! Studio J provides so many options. Did you know that you can change the color of the paper to color you want in Studio J? You can also rotate your layouts, enlarge or reduce stickease and even change your photos to black and white or sepia! Studio J ROCKS!!!!!

I have been busy creating projects and planning classes for

October. I was spoiled last week when a bit of fall decided to visit the Low Country! I brought out my jeans and sweatshirt, fall themed stamp sets, cardstock, B&T papers and ink pads and got to work.

Back to School

It is hard to believe that my children have been back in school for just about a month now. As my son, Tucker, says, "It does not even feel like we had summer vacation!"

Well, I kinda "went back to school" on September 1st. I signed up to take an online class titled "Learn Something New Every Day." In a nutshell, I receive a prompt each day in September that focuses on some aspect of life. The prompt encourages us to take a closer look into the details of each day, focusing on something particular. Then we are encouraged to journal about our day and something that we learned that day just going about our daily routines. And then we can scrapbook about the lesson learned that day.

I loved the assignment on September 10th. The instructor encouraged us to take a peek back at what we had journaled/scrapped the first 10 days of September and then create a list of "10 things we learned the first 10 days of September."

Here are 10 things I learned (in no particular order):

10. I can never have enough patience!

9. I have way more project ideas than time to create them

8. I love the change of seasons

7. Teenagers are unique creatures with attitudes!

6. I am addicted to exercise

5. Being tired is a perpetual feeling for me

4. Computers are very frustrating to me

3. If I do not spend time daily with the LORD then I get all out of whack

2. My heart is heavy on and around September 11th

1. I have the best husband, friend and soul mate: STAN!

Greetings!

Above are a few projects I created using the CTMH Elemental Kit. I used the new "Decor Journaling Spots" (#Z1462) on the scrapbook layout. I love these little pocket tags! They are perfect for hidden journaling, more photos or just as another embellishment to a project.

The circle card was created wiht the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge (#Z1686) (LOVE THIS!!!!). It was so nice to just load some card stock, press a few buttons and have a circle card in a matter of seconds!
