My Little Knitter!

I have been busy all week creating artwork but I made a promise to myself not to post scrapbook laytouts without photos so...I will share my new layouts once I have the photos on them.
So...I wanted to share this cute photo of my daughter Molly. She and I took a knitting class together this summer. If you live in my area I strongly suggest you visit the "Village Knittery" in downtown Summerville. The shop opened about 6 months ago and it is so fun! Miss Emily, the owner is the kindest person and a super teacher, as is her son, Kyle.

Anyway, we took this knitting class together and both of us have fallen in love with knitting. This is Molly with the scarf she knitted. Molly did most of the knitting and ALL of the braided tassels all by herself!!! Aren't the tassels adorable? I am so proud of my little knitter! And yes, I do need to create a layout with this photo. I have knitted a scarf and I am almost done with a hat to match. I didn't think I would love knitting as much as I do but...I DO! It's a great activity to do when you are in the car, as the passenger, of course!

Thank you Molly, for our special time together. I truly enjoy our one-on-one time together knitting!

Delight in the Everyday!

Boy! It's been a while since I last posted. My children went back to school this past Monday so we have been busy back to school shopping and spending quality time together before the summer ended! I did survive the first day. Yes, I am one of those mothers who still cries when summer comes to an end and the kids head back to school. This year was exceptionally hard. Tucker went to Middle School! I did not expect to react the way I did. I was actually pretty good sending the girls off but when we drove Tucker to his new schooll and he was not interested in me walking him to the building and when I saw how small he looked compared to all those 8th graders (he looked so big earlier that morning when we were taking back to school photos!) my eyes filled with tears!
I am adjusting and the kids are loving their teachers and are off to a good start so life is good! I got great "first day" photos but I will wait until I have them on scrapbook layouts before sharing them with you. One of my back to school goals is to post more layouts, rather than just photos! We'll see how good I do!

Close To My Heart is also offering another FABULOUS special which will run until September 30th! And this special can be combined with my specials so you can earn even MORE FREE PRODUCT!!!!! How COOL is that?! This photo shows the cards you can create with great kit. If you click on the photo you should see it better.

Here are the details for the special CTMH is offering:
September is NATIONAL STAMPING MONTH!
To celebrate CTMH is giving you 3 ways to get a FREE “Everyday Celebration Card Kit” for making 16 beautiful cards!
*Purchase a minimum of $60 in stamp sets (includes A, B, C, D and E-size) between August 18-September 30th
*Host a Gathering with minimum sales of $400 between September 1-30th
*You can also buy as many card kits as you’d like for $39.95 per kit.
....AND there’s MORE FUN! Place any order between September 1-30th and you’ll be automatically entered in our daily drawing for a FREE card kit! Winners will be announced on my website (amy.myctmh.com) and closetomyheart.com . Express your passion for stamping with this pretty new card kit today!
The Everyday Celebration Card Kit comes with:
Feature Kit colors: Chocolate, Colonial White, Dutch blue and Sweet Leaf
1- MyAcrylix Everyday Celebration Stamp Set (D-size and only available with this kit!)
16-4 ¼ x 5 ½ Colonial White Card Bases
16- 4 ¼ x 5 ½ Colonial White envelopes
1-12 x 12 Dutch Blue Cardstock
1-12 x 12 Colonial White Cardstock
4-12 x 12 B&T Duos Paper
1-Chocolate Distressing Ink
1-Dutch blue Distressing Ink
1-Mini Medley Accents Shades of Chocolate Collection
5’-Chocolate Ribbon with Colonial White Stitch
50-3-D foam squares
Sponge
1-Full Color Step-by-Step Instructional Brochure

This kit is a little different than the card kits we had last year and the year before. The paper does not come pre-cut with this year’s kit. I love this enhancement, as it allows you to create scrapbook layouts, as well, as cards! Isn’t that AWEOME!!! I think you will enjoy the “Delight in Everything” stamp set. It has a birthday/celebration theme to it, thus it can be used for just about anything and all year long! Fun,Fun,Fun!!!!!!
I have been busy creating art and working on my September workshop schedule. I will be sharing all the details with you throughout the day so please be sure to stop by again...and again...and again!

CAMP MCGREW!

We are back from our annual Camp McGrew Camping trip. This year we traveled to North Carolina-up by Asheville. What a wonderful 4 days we had a as a family bonding and spending quality time together. No television, cell phone computers...just fun together. We enjoyed hiking, swimming, sliding down a natural water slide (Sliding Rock), attending Smokey Bear's 65 birthday party celebation, cooking over the camp fire and my favorite, eating popcorn by the camp fire! I always give the kids goodie bags at the start of Camp McGrew. This is something the kids look forward to year after year after year. I make t-shirts for the entire family, too. Here are photos of some of the memories we created together. I am looking forward to adding these photos to the layouts I created last month. Once the photos are on the layouts I promise to post them, as well!

More Leadership Fun!

I wanted to share some more photos of the fun I had while attending the Close To My Heart Leadership conference in Long Beach California last weekend. Here is a photo of some of my CTMH gal pals. We are all Directors in the company. Founder and CEO , Jeanette Lynton treated all the directors to an evening of fun at Disneyland. We enjoyed a delicious meal at an Italian restuarant in the park and then she gave each of us a twilight pass into the park! It was a great evening!

Here is a photo of some of us doing a bit of sight-seeing before the conference began. We took a walk down by the water and ate at an outdoor restaurant. The last photo is from the awards banquet.

I know I have said this before but the friends I have made through CTMH are the best! We only see each other several times a year yet our friendship bonds are so strong. I am so grateful to CTMH for my CTMH sisters!

I am home!

AMAZING!!!!
That is the one word I have to use to explain the weekend I had at the Close To MyHeart Leadership Conference. My head is still spinning and dancing about all the WONDERFUL new products and programs CTMH introduced to us over the past 5 days! I will share a few of the new things with you now and hope that you will take full advantage of all the clubs, classes and events I offer later this month and on into the fall season so that I can share and teach you more and more!
This photo is of me with my 2nd and 3rd uplines. Karen Morris in on my left. Karen was one of the very first consultants to join the company...19 years ago. She has continually earn the spot of the Top Unit Sales in the entire company year after year. She has the largest team in the company, as well.
Niaomi Smith is to my right. She is my 2nd upline. She has also been with the company for many, many years and she continually earns the 2nd top Unit Sales year after year. Both of these fine ladies have taught me so, so much over the course of the 11 years I have been with the company. I am honored to be on their team!

Okay...here is the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!
Close To My Heart has come up with their own FABULOUS way to follow the digital scrapbook movement. It is called "Studio J" (what a jzzy title, eh?). "Studio J" will be released some time in the Spring 2010. You can get a sneak peek of "Studio J" by visitng http://www.studioj.com/. The clip is 2 minutes long and very heart-warming. There are also some questions and answers about the program at this website. Close To My Heart is embracing the world of Digital Scrapbooking, however, we are not replacing the Classic Scrapbooking form of photo perservation. Our program is not called "digital scrapbooking", either. Rather, "Studio Scrapbooking" is the title Jeanette (founder and CEO of Close To My Heart) has given to this classy new program. One of the nice features about this program is you can mix and match studio and classic scrapbook layouts throughout your album! Those of you who are excited about Sutido Scrapbooking might be thinking, "How am I going to wait until the spring to play with this new program?" Don't worry...I promise you it will be worth the wait! Here are a few photos of a layout created from "Studio J."

I will always be a "Classic" scrapbooker but I am excited to add "Studio" scrapbooking "here and there" in my albums. This program will also be great when I want to make multiple albums and use as gifts!

As for the "Classic" Scrapbooking products, you are going to love all the new scrapbooking kits, new stamp sets and embellishments! I will be sharing all the new information and will have new products on display at my "Back To School" Crop on Saturday Agust 29th. I do hope you will join me at this event. All those who attend will receive the Autumn/Winter 2009 Idea Book FREE. This is my gift to you! More details about this event will be announced soon!
